Viewing Fines and Penalties for a Specific Account (Fines and Penalties Screen)

Information about fines and penalties charged to an account can be displayed on the Fines and Penalties screen.  These are charges other than late fees and NSF fees.

User Entitlements

The following user entitlement is used on this screen. It is part of the View Only Major Screens task, which is part of most jobs. See Tasks, Entitlements, and Jobs for more information.

SI_ACTVIT01: View and query the Account Status screen

  1. Double-click Account Status on the Main Menu or select Account Status on the Go To list.
  2. The Account Status screen will appear, showing the Escrow Payment screen.
  3. Click the Fines and Penalties tab.
  4. If you are carrying an account number from another screen (or from the Escrow Payment tab), it will appear in the Account No field along with the Year.  If not, then enter a number in the space provided and press F8.  If you would like a different number, press F7, enter the new number, then press F8.

Notes: If you do not know the account number, select Account Search in the Go To list.  For more information, see Searching for an Account.  Write down or copy the account number, then enter it into the Fines and Penalties screen.

If you only want to view the fines for a particular tax unit, enter the unit number into the Tax Unit field beside the Year field on top of the screen before pressing F8.  Otherwise, all fines will be shown.

  1. Each line represents an individual payment.  The following fields are displayed.
FIELD DESCRIPTION
Dealer No. A unique number assigned to the account.
Year The current escrow year for special inventory accounts.
Certified Owner Certified owner of the account.
Tax Unit Tax unit that stores the fine/penalty information.
Month Month that the payment is due. If more than one fine is assessed for that month, the total is shown.
Date Assessed Date that the fine/penalty was assessed.
Amount Amount of the fine/penalty due.  Penalty is not calculated on any NSF portion of an account balance.
Date Receipt Date that the fine/penalty was paid.
Payment Amount Amount of the fine/penalty that was paid.
Amount Due Amount of the fine/penalty still due.
Totals Total of all taxing units for Amount, Amount Paid and Due fields.
Deposit No. Deposit number of the highlighted payment.
Validation No. System-generated number to the highlighted payment.
Change Date Date the last change was made to the account.
Operator ID User who made the last change.
  1. The most recent note having a MSG code appears in the Sticky Notes area at the top of the screen.  To see additional information about the account currently displayed, click the Notes button. In the Notes pop up window, you may enter or change any information.  The Notes button can be clicked at anytime while you are viewing the Account Status screens.
  • To change the information, simply edit the desired note, then click Close.
  • To add a new note, press F6 (Insert) to get a new blank line.  Enter the note.  The Change Date is auto-filled as the current date. Click Close
  • Select Yes on the confirmation message asking if you want to save the change.
  • To verify the note, click the Notes button again.  The new note will be at top of the popup, since it is the most recent one.
