Convert Rendition Penalty to Individual Units

Last Revised: October 19, 2010

This process moves unpaid rendition penalty amounts from the rendition tax units used in tax year 2006 (for ex., unit 1095) to the individual units. All of the unpaid monies are moved, including the 5% normally distributed to the appraisal district, and are allocated across the regular tax units.  The disbursement of funds to the jurisdictions and the appraisal district can be seen in the TC298W.  If you do not disburse to the appraisal district, you do not need to load the 298W file into TaxLedge. Any paid rendition amounts remain in the rendition tax unit (1095).

This process can be run only once for each tax office and each year. It should be run at the end of a month to prevent balancing problems. To process rendition penalty amounts in a similar manner after each supplement/correction load, see Move Rendition Penalty to Jurisdictions in CAD Tables.

Before running this, make sure that the rendition tax units have been entered in the Tax Unit Maintenance screen's Rendition Penalty field(s). These client preferences should also be set:

RENDITION_CONTROL: Set to EMBED if rendition penalty should be included in the individual tax units, adding the funds to the levy for each unit, instead of leaving it in the rendition tax unit(s) (for ex., unit 1095).

DATE_RENDITION_CHANGED:  Enter the starting date to consider all rendition penalty payments to be embedded (assuming RENDITION_CONTROL is set to EMBED).   this should be the day after this conversion process has been run.

USE_HCTO_HCAD_LOGIC:   tax offices serviced by the Harris County Appraisal District should set this to Y to use the correct batch update engine within this process.

  1. From the Main Menu, click on Products, then Batch Products.  The ACT Batch Menu will appear.

If the client preference RENDITION_CONTROL is set to EMBED and  this Regenerate Receivables in CAD Tables process is run later (for ex., for supplement/correction loads or for changes made in the Account Master screen), any paid rendition penalty amounts still in the rendition tax units will be moved to the individual units, adding the funds to the levy and the paid levy  for each unit.  If the preference is set to TAXUNIT, the monies will remain in the rendition units.
